National Seminar on “Dynamincs in Mineral Sector for Viksit Bharat 2047″
The two-day National Seminar on “Dynamics in Mineral Sector for Viksit Bharat 2047” is scheduled to be held at Bhubaneswar on 21 and 22 December 2024 with the following themes and subthemes.
Mineral resources: Plan, future projections and action taken to meet the future demand
- Coal for thermal power and other Industries
- Bauxite for Aluminium sector
- Iron ore, chromite etc. for iron and steel, ferro alloy industries
- Critical & strategic minerals, Cobalt, Nickel, Lithium, Copper, REE etc. for renewable energy, EV, Electronic device and other sectors
Subthemes
- Mineral Exploration: Regional scale for potential areas and proving new deposits with innovative approach and the technology applied, offshore exploration, utilisation of NMET fund
- Mining: Application of latest technology in opencast and underground mines, like use of EV, IT & AI with skill development, coal gasification, offshore mining, restoration of mined out areas.
- Mineral Processing: Upgradation of poor grade by innovative/ new technology developed or proposed and utilization of waste.
Sustainable Development
- Management practice with zero discharges, eco-friendly operation, green energy and logistics
- Regional scale restorations of ecosystem in mining belts
- CSR, Peripheral Development, Strengthening of community
Legislation with recent amendments
- With respect to MMDR, MCR & MCDR particularly auction route, regional exploration (RP to NERP) – challenges and benefits including achievements vis-à-vis envisaged growth
- Utilization of DMF and CA funds; socio-economic development already delayed; reuse of land, water etc.
